Our breakfast room is yours to enjoy at your leisure — whether for a quiet cup of tea, a chat by the fire, or a friendly game on the convertible pool table.

Kids & Pets

Our children love it when others come to stay! Well-behaved children of all ages are very welcome. The sofa bed in the Melbury Room comfortably sleeps one child or small adult — or two little ones snuggled up.

While we don’t allow dogs in our B&B rooms, our glamping area is dog-friendly, complete with a secure field for them to run and play.

What People Are Saying

“So much more than what is advertised. A beautiful, friendly and welcoming B&B. We were very comfortable and well rested. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and the decor is lovely. Thank you for a lovely stay.”

“Sophie and her family bent over backwards to help with our needs. They were brilliant. I loved our room, it was beautifully done with a touch of quirkiness which is perfect for me.”

“A very comfortable and friendly place in a lovely location. We had a very enjoyable stay at the Old Forge. Our room - and indeed the whole place - is full of history and character and is the height of good taste. The bed was extremely comfortable and there were nice little touches in the room such as a mini fridge with water & milk, a vast array of tea bags, pretty china and very nice - & ethical - toiletries in the en suite. The breakfasts were very tasty, freshly cooked and were both locally sourced and of great quality. Even the yoghurt was made at a local farm. Sophie was a very friendly and helpful host and made our stay very pleasant. It is in a very lovely location and I only regret we didn’t have time to explore it further.”
